McCullough Equipment Group is seeking a driven, results-focused Outside Sales Representative to grow market share across the Chicagoland market and surrounding suburbs. This role is responsible for developing new business, expanding relationships with existing customers, and converting competitive users across Kubota construction, compact, turf, and outdoor power equipment product lines.
The ideal candidate is competitive, self-motivated, and disciplined in daily activity. They understand how to prospect, build relationships, run demos, structure deals, and close business in a fast-moving environment. Success in this role is measured by territory growth, pipeline activity, customer retention, and consistent achievement of monthly and annual sales targets.
McCullough provides ongoing product training, strong operational support, and a performance-driven culture focused on execution and accountability.
Essential Responsibilities
Sales & Territory Growth
- Actively prospect and call on contractors, landscapers, municipalities, property managers, acreage owners, and competitive equipment users throughout assigned Chicagoland territory.
- Build and maintain a consistent pipeline through daily prospecting, referrals, jobsite visits, and follow-up activity.
- Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue and gross profit targets.
- Grow territory market share by converting competitive accounts and expanding existing relationships.
- Maintain strong knowledge of used equipment values and effectively evaluate trade-ins.
Customer Engagement & Execution
- Conduct professional field demonstrations and presentations tailored to customer needs.
- Ensure all new equipment and demo units are clean, prepared, and customer-ready.
- Structure deals using factory finance programs, promotions, and dealership resources.
- Manage the entire sales process from prospecting through delivery and follow-up.
- Deliver consistent post-sale follow-up to drive repeat and referral business.
Operational Discipline
- Maintain accurate CRM activity including daily call reports, pipeline updates, and lost-sale tracking.
- Stay current on Kubota programs, pricing, inventory availability, and competitive activity.
- Ensure all sales documentation is completed accurately and electronically.
- Maintain assigned company vehicle and demo equipment professionally.
Brand & Team Representation
- Represent McCullough at industry events, jobsite visits, and community functions.
- Collaborate with parts, service, rental, and inside sales teams to support customer needs.
- Uphold McCullough’s reputation for professionalism, urgency, and execution in the market.
Customer Experience Expectations
- Deliver a high-level, responsive customer experience at every interaction.
- Address concerns quickly and professionally.
- Maintain a professional appearance and strong personal presence.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of outside sales experience preferred (construction, agriculture, OPE, heavy equipment, rental, or related industries).
- Proven track record of hitting sales targets and growing territory revenue.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and general business software.
